The Coming Great Christian Revival
The scenario painted by Daniel and
Revelation regarding world conditions is one of two, and only two camps.
It is easy to conceive how a union of the many denominations and sects of
Christianity will come about. We are told by sister
White, "Through the two great errors, the immortality of
the soul and Sunday Sacredness, Satan
will bring the people under his deceptions." Great Controversy 588
Yet why don't the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy mention the resistance of 850
million unbelieving atheists, 360 million Buddhists, 1.3 billion Muslims, 900
million Hindus, and the myriad other non-Christian religions in the world, which by far outnumber Christianity?
Wouldn't Jews protest Sunday laws? Wouldn't atheists and the ACLU immediately
quash even the suggestion of religious legislation? Wouldn't the increasing
number of "pagans", "wiccans" and other anti-christians
rebel against decidedly "Christian" laws?
This chart shows
that Christianity comprises only 33% of the world's population. How will the
religion of only 1/3rd of the world have the influence to force its
agenda on the other 2/3rd of the world? We are told that "the
whole world" will follow after the beast. Including atheists? Including
Jews? Including Muslims?
“And there followed another angel, saying,
"The so-called Christian world is to be the theater of great decisive
actions. Men in authority will enact laws controlling the conscience, after
the example of the Papacy.
"The decree enforcing the worship of
this day is to go forth to all the world. "

The following quotation suggests that the
principles in the Great Controversy will be made known to everyone on
earth—irregardless of the language barrier, the illiteracy barrier, cultural barriers:
“The whole earth, wrapped as it is in the
darkness of sin and sorrow and pain, is to be lighted with the knowledge of
God's love. From no sect, rank, or class of people is the
light shining from heaven's throne to be excluded. The message of hope and
mercy is to be carried to the ends of the earth. Whosoever will, may reach
forth and take hold of God's strength and make peace with Him, and he shall
make peace. No longer are the heathen to be wrapped in
How will Satan accomplish this incredible
feat?
Unity
The reason these myriad other groups are
not mentioned in the description of last day events is that they will not exist. There will be one, and
only one religion: Christianity. Yet, while people are converted from atheism,
Islam, and other religions to Christianity by witnessing, the disappearance of
every other religion will not be accomplished by Bible studies or
televangelism. The book of Revelation tells us, three times, how Satan will gather all the inhabitants of the world
into one belief system. Sister White tells us, "The Lord does not repeat things
that are of no great consequence.”

maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth
them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had
power to do in the sight of the beast.” Revelation 13:13-14

like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the
beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are
the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the
kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received
the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.” Revelation

lying wonders of the devil that will take the world captive, and he will cause

this wonderful, miracle-working power is to sweep in the whole world.” 2

declares that before the coming of the Lord, Satan will work ‘with all power and signs and lying
wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness;’ and they that “received not the love
of the truth, that they might be saved,’ will be left to receive ‘strong
delusion, that they should believe a lie.’ 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11” Great

While undoubtedly it is Satan who has been behind every false belief system
and he has worked to get people to believe in these other false belief systems,
Sister White tells us that it will be through Christianity that Satan
will unite the entire world:
"We are approaching the end of this
earth's history, and Satan is working as never before. He is striving to act as
director of the Christian world. With an intensity that is
marvelous he is working with his lying wonders. Satan is represented as walking
about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He desires to embrace the whole world
in his confederacy. Hiding his deformity under the garb of Christianity, he
assumes the attributes of a Christian, and claims to be Christ Himself."
Last Day Events 155
In describing a specific method Satan and
his cohorts will employ to bring about this world unity, she makes an
interesting statement:
"It is not difficult for the evil angels
to represent both saints and sinners who have died, and
make these representations visible to human eyes. These manifestations will be more frequent, and developments of a more startling character will appear as we near the
close of time." Evangelism 604
What are these "developments of a
more startling character"? These delusions will be of such a nature as to
deceive even Seventh-day Adventists: “The
forms of the dead will appear, through the cunning device of Satan, and many
will link up with the one who loveth and maketh a lie. I warn our people that
right among us some will turn away from the faith and give heed to seducing
spirits and doctrines of devils, and by them the truth will be
evil spoken of.” Upward

whole world by his miracle-working power. He will assume to personate the angels of light, to personate Jesus Christ." 2 Selected

While we know that Satan will personate
Christ "in different parts of the earth" as "the crowning act in
the great drama of deception" (Great Controversy 624), something—an event
unlike any other in human history—will accomplish an almost unbelievable feat
in converting the unbelieving and those of other faiths to Christianity. This
is only possible as Satan is given more freedom than he ever has in the
controversy. Throughout the ages, his power has been restrained; however, we
are told that "he who now restrains [the appearance of antichrist]” will
be “taken out of the way" (2 Thessalonians 2:7 RSV). Much as in Job's
trials, where the restraints Satan had been working under previously are
removed, God's people will have a similar experience in the time of trouble.
The “crowning act” of Satan’s final
delusions will be his appearance as Christ, and the miracles that will
accompany him. Apparantly, he will even seem to raise the dead. There will be
manifestations of Satanic delusion, however—not as the
"crowning act" of Satan's agenda, but rather the initial act. He and his cohorts will first prepare the world to
receive him as Christ through apparitions.
The paragraph just before the one where she speaks of the "crowning
act" begins as follows:
“Fearful
sights of a supernatural character will soon be revealed in the heavens, in
token of the power of miracle-working demons. The spirits of
devils will go forth to the kings of the earth and to the whole world, to fasten them in deception, and urge them
on to unite with Satan in his last struggle against the government of
heaven. By these agencies, rulers
and subjects will be alike deceived." Great Controversy 624
“Wonderful scenes, with which Satan will be closely connected, will soon take place.
God's Word declares that Satan will work miracles." Letter 57, 1904
Atheists, who heretofore demanded "proof" of God's existence, will be converted by these Satanic apparitions:
"Many who refuse the message which
the Lord sends them are seeking to find pegs on which to hang doubts, to find
some excuse for rejecting the light of heaven. In the face of clear evidence
they say, as did the Jews, ‘Show us a miracle, and we will believe. If these
messengers have the truth, why do they not heal the sick?’… The day is just before us when Satan will
answer the demand of these doubters and present numerous miracles to confirm
the faith of all those who are seeking this kind of evidence. How terrible
will be the situation of those who close their eyes to the light of truth and
ask for miracles to establish them in deception!” Evangelism 594
"The enemy is preparing to deceive the whole world by

As men reject the truth and God’s Spirit
is withdrawn, Satan will work more openly:
"The signs and wonders of Spiritualism
will become more and more pronounced as the professed Christian world reject
the plainly revealed truth of the Word of God, and refuse to be guided by a
plain, 'Thus saith the Lord,' accepting instead the doctrines and the
commandments of men. Through rejecting light and truth, many are deciding their
destiny for eternal death, and as men reject truth, the Spirit of God will gradually
withdraw itself from the earth, and the
prince of this world will have more and more control over his subjects. He will
show great signs and wonders as credentials of his divine claims,
and through Spiritualism will work against Christ and His agencies." Undated

We are told we can prepare for these
deceptions. This study is one of the ways we can prepare—by having knowledge of
what Satan's plans are.
"We
need to understand what we are to meet and how we are to meet it. We must know
what efforts we are to make, so that in this perilous time we shall not be
taken by the enemy's devices. We know
that the last great conflict will be Satan's most determined effort to
accomplish his purpose. He will come, not only as a roaring lion, but as a
seducer, clothing sin with beautiful garments of light, that
he may take human beings in his snare.” Manuscript 46
"Satan has long been preparing for
his final effort to deceive the world. Little by little he has prepared
the way for his masterpiece of deception of spiritualism." The Great

Looking In on the Enemy’s
Battleplans
We are warned that Satan will do something that will convince those in Christian churches that God is working:
"I saw that God has honest children
among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues
shall be poured out, ministers
and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the
truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement
in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth
may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them
to think that God is still working for the churches." Early Writings 261 He will accomplish
this by the miracles and apparitions of "Mary" and "Jesus".
We are told that those in “heathen” religions will be directed by satanic
apparitions to heed the voice of antichrist:
"As we near the close of time, there
will be greater and still greater external parade of heathen power; heathen deities will manifest their
signal power, and will exhibit
themselves before the cities
of the world; and this delineation has already begun to be fulfilled.” Testimonies to Ministers 117
Roman
Catholicism and Christianity (in it’s present form)
are nothing more than the sun worship of ancient
While the idolatrous worship of Mary as
“co-redemptrix” and “co-mediatrix” with Christ is rejected by Christians who
are not of the Roman Catholic faith, this will quickly change. The Satanic
apparitions of the “Virgin Mary” in the last decade have clearly declared their
intention to convert the world—not to Christ, but to Mary. Even as far back as
the apparitions of the Virgin of Fatima in
When he tried to deceive Jesus in the
wilderness, Satan first appeared as an angel of light, quoting the Scriptures.
When this didn’t work, he next used physical miracles to add to the deception,
by taking Christ to the top of the temple. Finally, “the devil, taking him up to a high mountain, shewed
unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.” (Luke 4:5) The Son of God Himself was given a Satanic vision, the origin and extent of the vision
governed entirely by Satan.
This shows that a Satanic vision can come to anyone—it has nothing to do with
how good or how wicked the person is. Receiving a satanic vision has nothing
to do with being saved, unsaved, or entirely ignorant of the issue of
salvation. It may even be that the more spiritual will be more likely to
receive Satanic visions (in order to deceive them).
"The miracle working power
manifested through spiritualism will exert its influence against those who
choose to obey God rather than men. Communications
from the spirits will declare that God has sent them to convince the rejecters
of Sunday of their error, confirming that the laws of the land should be
obeyed as the laws of God." Great Controversy 590
“If men are so easily misled now, how will
they stand when Satan shall personate Christ, and work miracles? Who will be
unmoved by his misrepresentations then—professing to be Christ when it is only
Satan assuming the person of Christ, and apparently working the works of

According to the following quotation,
Satan will appear as Christ before the the law of God is made void throughout
all nations:
"Fallen
angels upon earth form confederations with evil men. In this age antichrist will appear as the true Christ,
and then the law of God will be
fully made void in the nations of our world. Rebellion against God's holy
law will be fully ripe. But the true
leader of all this rebellion is Satan clothed as an angel of light. Men
will be deceived and will exalt him to the place of God, and deify him.” Testimonies to Ministers 62
“Satan will take the field and personate
Christ. He will misrepresent, misapply, and pervert everything he possibly

Laying
the Groundwork
From every corner of the world come
reports of messages, visions, supernatural signs, and miracles connected
with apparitions. Reports of apparitions, weeping statues and pictures with
messages from Jesus and his mother Mary have come in from almost every state in
Three days of
darkness, Antichrist, Satan personating Christ, world tribulation, church
apostasy, a false pope, a world-wide warning, world-wide miracles, division of
the Catholic church, a new world war, the return of Elias and Enoch, a comet,
reunification of all Christian faiths and of Christians and
Moslems, chastisements, and Marian dogma of Mary as Co-Mediatrix,
Advocate and Redemptrix, and the Second coming of Jesus Christ are all mentioned in these apparitions.
After appearing to the 3 children in
Fatima, Portugal 6 times, and performing various miracles and visions not only
in the sight of the children, but to an ever-increasing number of pilgrims, the
following display of satanic power was seen by 70,000 people, including atheist
news reporters. Notice the focus on the sun (premiere deity in all pagan
worship):
“As the lady was about to leave, she
pointed to the sun. Lucy excitedly repeated the gesture, and the people looked
into the sky. The rain had ceased, the clouds parted, and the sun shone
forth, but not in its usual brilliance. Instead, it appeared like a silver
disc, pale as the moon, at which all could gaze without straining their eyes.
“Suddenly, impelled by some mysterious
force, the disc began to whirl in the sky, casting off great shafts of
multicolored light. Red, green, blue, yellow, violet, the
enormous rays shot across the sky at all angles, lighting up the entire
countryside for many miles around, but particularly the upturned faces of those
70,000 spellbound people. After three minutes, the wonder stopped, but
was resumed again a second and a third time, three times in all within about 12
minutes. It seemed that the whole world was on fire, with the sun spinning at a
greater speed each time.
"Then a gasp of terror rose from the
crowd, for the sun seemed to tear itself from the heavens and come crashing
down upon the horrified multitude. 'It's the end of the world!'
shrieked one woman. 'Dear God, don't let me die in my sins!' implored another.
'Holy Virgin protect us!' cried a third. All were on
their knees in terror, asking pardon for their sins. Just when it seemed that
the ball of fire would fall upon and destroy them, the miracle ceased and the
sun resumed its normal place in the sky, shining forth as peacefully as
ever.
"When the people arose from the
ground, cries of astonishment were heard on all sides. Their
clothes, which had been soaking wet and muddy, now were clean and
dry. Many of the sick and crippled had been cured of their affliction."

The World
Converted
In the “Acknowledgements” page of their
book, “The Thunder of Justice”, Ted and Maureen Flynn state their belief that, “Soon
all will call Mary ‘Queen.’”. They believe this because the spurious
apparitions have declared their plan to convert the entire world to Mary. The
descriptions of the promised miracles by the apparitions sound remarkably like
“developments of a more startling character”, “wonderful scenes” and “Fearful sights of a supernatural
character”.
One of the purported messages from Mary
is, “‘A chastisement worse than the flood is about to come upon this poor and
perverted humanity. Fire will descend
from Heaven and this will be the sign that the justice of God has as of now
fixed the hour of His great manifestation. I am weeping because the Church is
continuing along the road of division, of loss of the true faith, of apostasy
and of errors which are being spread more and more without anyone offering
opposition to them. Even now, that which I predicted at
“Mary declares there will be a warning and
a great miracle. The warning will be a mysterious world-wide event, in which
each individual will perceive the state of his or her own soul as God sees it.
The warning is a call to change our ways. Within a year of the warning, a
miracle—a great supernatural sign—will follow, which will be permanent,
visible, and totally inexplicable by science. A short time after the miracle,
terrible chastisement will follow, and only after a thorough ‘purification’
will come an ‘Era of Peace.’ This will not be the end of the world as many may
think, but the dawn of a new epoch, a new age in which God is adored.
“The messages form a road map for our
future. They speak of the sinful state of the world today and mention ‘secrets’
that concern events to come. A series of cataclysmic events (both natural and
supernatural) upon the earth will make mankind realize that God exists and that
salvation should be our focus. We have forgotten that ultimately all of human
life comes down to a simple choice of Heaven or hell; and Heaven apparently
intends very soon to use powerful means of persuasion on a scale never before
witnessed in the history of the world. Genesis shows us the extreme displeasure
of Yahweh with His people; so great was His displeasure that God regretted
making man, as Genesis 6: 6 tells us. God cleansed the entire world by Flood;
events of similar severity are prophesied by many reliable sources having
Church approval.

lives for all her children. She is
reaching out to those far away, the sinners, the atheists, those who reject
God, those who fight against Him, and those who hate Him. She wants to help
all men as their mother—for the hour is late.” The Thunder of Justice 5-6

that her messages are meant for all
peoples, and not for Catholics alone. Mary says the Catholic Church has the
fullest expression of the many gifts which have been given to mankind for
salvation and perseverance in battle against the devil's constant wiles; but she is the mother of everyone on earth.”

are being reported. A storm is approaching, and grace is telling us where our
safety lies. In Medjugorje, Mary has said she will appear if necessary
in every single household. Her love and concern for her children is

"It is the lying wonders of the devil
that will take the world captive, and he will cause fire to come down from
heaven in the sight of men. He is to work miracles; and this wonderful, miracle

“It was by satanic aid that Pharaoh's
magicians were enabled to counterfeit the work of God. Paul testifies that
before the second advent of Christ there will be similar manifestations of
satanic power. The coming of the Lord is to be preceded by 'the working of
Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness
of unrighteousness.' 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10. And the apostle John, describing
the miracle-working power that will be manifested in the last days, declares:
'He doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the
earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the
means of those miracles which he had power to do.' Revelation 13:13-14. No mere
impostures are here foretold. Men are deceived by the miracles which Satan's

wordings will alike accept the form
of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand
movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the
long-expected millennium.” Great

“The Blessed Mother is doing all that is
necessary to assure the salvation of her children. Will a mother not do all that she can for the safety of her children if she is
able? Because of the apostasy we are living through, the Blessed Virgin Mary
told the world through the visionaries of Medjugorje she will do all she can in
this span of time: ‘I wish to continue giving you messages like never before in
history since the beginning of time.’ During the spring of 1982, the
visionaries asked the Blessed Mother about other alleged apparitions. They
asked, ‘People are surprised that you are appearing in so many places!’ The Blessed Mother responded, ‘If it is necessary, I will appear in each

On page 177, the Flynns predict a positive
reaction from Jews to the visions.
The
Warning, The Miracle, The Chastisement, and the Era of
Peace
Under the heading, “Things That Are To Come”, the Flynns summarize the future plans of worldwide
import:
“The prophecies of Garabandal tell us that
four of the greatest supernatural events in the history of mankind are about to
take place:
1. A world-wide warning: It will come from
God, and it will be experienced by everyone in the world.
2. A great miracle: God will perform the
greatest miracle of all times.
3. A permanent sign: After the great
miracle, a sign, something that has never been seen before upon the earth, will
remain forever in "the pines" of Garabandal
4. The chastisement: This is a punishment
that is conditional upon the response of mankind to these messages.” Thunder of

Warning”
“The first event will be a world-wide
warning from God. Conchita, wrote in a letter on
“Conchita wrote on
“Jacinta has said: ‘The warning is something that is first seen in the air, everywhere in the
world and immediately is transmitted into the interior of our souls. It will
last for a very little time, but it will seem a very long time because of its
effect within us. It will be for the good of our souls, in order to see in
ourselves our conscience... the good that we have failed to do, and the bad
that we have done. Then we will feel a great love towards our heavenly Parents
and ask forgiveness for all our offenses. The warning is for everybody because
God wants our salvation. The warning is for us to draw closer to Him and to
increase our faith. Therefore, one should prepare for that day, but not
await it with fear. God does not send things for the sake of fear but rather
with justice and love. He does it for the good of all His children so they might
enjoy eternal happiness and not be lost.’
“Conchita's statement to
some Americans follow. Two statements were made by Conchita in response
to questions put to her:
Q. Will the warning be a visible thing or an interior
thing or both?
A. The warning is a thing that comes directly from God.
It will be visible all over the world, in
whatever place anyone might be.
Q. Will the warning reveal his personal sins to every
person in the world and to persons of all faiths, including atheists?
A. Yes, the
warning will be like the revelation of our sins, and it will be seen and felt equally by believers and non-believers and
people of any religion whatsoever…
“‘The warning will be very fearful, a
thousand times worse than earthquakes.’ To an inquiry concerning the nature of
the warning, Conchita answered: ‘It will be like fire. It will not burn our
flesh, but we will feel it bodily and interiorly.’ She added, ‘We shall comment
on this later. All nations and all
persons will experience it in the same way. No one will escape it. Even the
non-believers themselves will experience the fear of God. Even if you hide in
your room and close the blinds, you will not escape it. You will feel and see
it just the same.’
“Conchita added: ‘Oh, but after the
warning, you will love the good Lord very much.’…
“An important note should be added: when
Conchita describes the warning as being ‘like fire,’ she means that in some way
or ways it resembles fire but that it is not fire.
“According to Conchita the warning and
fire have two things in common: they can be ‘seen’ and ‘felt,’ and they are
‘very terrifying.’ The warning will be seen and felt by all men and will cause
great fear in men's hearts, a fear so great that it could conceivably cause
some to die. To want a precise and detailed description of the phenomenon in
human terms is to seek the impossible. Also, it is not necessary. This should
be enough to prompt us to take measures now so as to be ready for the warning

“Very recent reports from pilgrims in
Medjugorje describe how they experienced an illumination of conscience, seeing
their entire life pass before their eyes as in a film. They reported that they
were able to see precisely and clearly each event of their life when they had
said ‘Yes’ to God, and each time when they said "No." Their
consciences were flooded with such light that they saw themselves as in an
X-ray from the Holy Spirit, ‘with the shadows of sin and the light of love
which they had given.’ They felt a profound repentance. They all received at
the same moment a great healing, physical and spiritual. One, a drug addict,
was completely freed from drug addiction. These pilgrims now have only one
desire: to put God and His love above everything else in their lives. 1 Could this
be a foreshadowing of the world-wide warning that visionaries at Garabandal and

Great Miracle”
“Our Lady has promised that a great
miracle will take place above the grove of the pine trees. It will occur on a
Thursday evening, at

“A permanent sign will remain forever as a
result of the great miracle. It will be of supernatural origin and something
that has never been seen before on earth. Conchita has written: ‘A sign of the
miracle, which will be possible to film or televise, will remain forever at the
pines.’ No one, however, will be able to touch it.
“The
Chastisement”
“During July of 1962, Conchita, Mari-Loli,
and Jacinta were shown a vision of the impending chastisement. Our Lady told
the visionaries that, if we do not heed
her warnings and mankind does not change after the warning and miracle, God will
send the chastisement. In a note Conchita stated: ‘The punishment is conditioned upon whether or not mankind heeds the
messages of the Blessed Virgin Mary.’ Conchita said in her diary: ‘If the world changes, the chastisement can
be averted.’ In describing the vision of the chastisement, MariLoli said:
‘It would be worse than having fire on top of us—fire underneath us and fire
all around us.’ She saw people throwing themselves into the sea, but instead of
putting the fire out it seemed to make them burn more.” Thunder of Justice

Mother of All
The apparitions and miracles are designed
to establish the Roman Catholic Church as God’s true church, to convert
Christians to Mary, to convert unbelievers:
“The miracle will be ecclesial, that is,
it will support the truth that through the Body of Christ which is the Church,
all graces come, and that all men and women are called not only to follow Jesus
personally, but also to enter His Church and to submit to its discipline,
teaching, and sacraments. For this reason, the miracle will happen in
connection with a great ecclesiastical event. God's timing is the Church's
timing, and the Church's authority will be reinforced and authenticated by the
fact that the "ecclesiastical event" and the miracle will occur on
the same day, perhaps at the very same instant. Also, the Pope will see the
miracle from wherever he is…
“The miracle will be Marian. It will
assert the glory of the Mother of God, so
that all Christians will give up
their objections to her role in the Body of Christ and pay her the honor that
God Himself gives her. The world will begin to give the Immaculate Heart of Mary the honor and devotion
due her. Through this great miracle, many will begin to love, ‘Holy Mary,
Mother of God.’…
“The Blessed Mother told the visionary
Mariamante: ‘The wickedness of men would destroy my plan if possible but my
power given to me by God Himself is infinitely greater than all the wickedness
in the world. Good always triumphs over evil. Remember this always. It will
give you great heart to know and reflect upon this. Satan and his legions
cannot prevent my Triumph as hard as they may try, because God Himself has
preordained that this should occur in this time. You are fortunate to be living
in this time, this era of mercy and love. Not all have been given so great a
chance to repent from so much evil. You
will know by the sign in the heavens which is I myself that the time is at hand
for the instantaneous conversion of the
multitude. This will be accomplished through a tremendous outpouring of
grace upon the earth given at the hands of God to me for this purpose. This

“The miracle is for the conversion of the whole
world. This assertion was made by Our Lord Himself to Conchita at Garabandal
The Lord answered her question about Russia's conversion by assuring her that
‘the miracle was not only for the conversion of Russia,’ but ‘for the conversion of the whole world,’
and that ‘thus, all will love Our Hearts’ [the hearts of Jesus and Mary].”

The
Remnant
Of course, we know that the remnant will
not be decieved, but will go forth with renewed vigor to preach the truth.
Satan anticipates this:

impiety will provoke a terrible rebellion against God, attempting to lead all
souls astray (even those who oppose their revolt) and they will cause many to

“As apostles of the last times, you must
withstand with the strength of little ones the proud force of the great and
learned, who, seduced
by a false science and vainglory, have torn to pieces the Gospel of Jesus, by
propounding an interpretation of it which is rationalistic, humanistic, and

When the early rain fell upon the
disciples at Pentecost, they preached the message, and “a great company of the
priests were obedient to the faith.” Since we are told that “the great body of
Christ’s true followers are still to be found in”
“The work of the devil will infiltrate
even the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals,
bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate Me
will be scorned and opposed by their confreres... churches and altars sacked,
the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will
press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. The
demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The
thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins
increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.”

“Art Thou
He That Troubleth
The apparitions warn that unless the
entire world converts, that “the Chastisement” will come:
“Once the miracle happens, the
human race must change or
face the most terrible catastrophe the world has ever seen: the punishment.
Unless the people heed the message of the miracle, the punishment will surely
come. There will be no escape from it. The miracle will have set the fuse.
Unless we extinguish its burning by repentance, the punishment will come.” The Thunder
of Justice 326
That natural disasters of epic proportions
will happen is clear in God’s word.
Jesus said, “For that will be a time of greater horror than anything the world
has ever seen or will ever see again. In fact, unless that time of calamity is
shortened, the entire human race will be destroyed. But it will be shortened
for the sake of God's chosen ones.” Matthew 24:21-22 NLT
We can only conjecture as to exactly what
will occur; some thoughtful Bible students, taking their cues from the book of
Revelation believe that this involves meteors. The damage that even a small
meteor could cause would devastate the earth. It is possible that the earth
might break away from its orbit of the sun, causing many of the disasters that
we are told will happen. Sister White tells us that “cities... will be
destroyed by earthquakes, by fire, by flood.” (Evangelism 27).
“The time is near when large cities will be swept away.” (page
29). However, on page 29 she also says “thousands
of cities” will be destroyed; what kind of disaster or disasters will it take
to destroy thousands of cities?
The effect these calamaties have on the
world’s population is spoken of by Christ in Luke 21:25-26: “There will be
signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and
perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror,
apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be
shaken.”
Marvin Moore makes the observation that “Anguish
and perplexity are what people experience when their house burns down. And
according to Jesus, nations—that’s
plural, international, global—will be in anguish and
perplexity shortly before the second coming. In some way, certain signs in the
sun, moon, and stars will cause the governments of the world to be in despair.”

In all of this, Satan's objective is to blame the
commandment-keeping people of God as the cause of the disasters.
"Satan works through the elements
also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of
the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements
as far as God allows. When he was
suffered to afflict Job, how quickly flocks and herds, servants, houses,
children, were swept away, one trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is
God that shields His creatures, and hedges them in from the power of the
destroyer. But the Christian world have shown contempt for the law of Jehovah;
and the Lord will do just what He has declared that He would, —He will withdraw
His blessings from the earth, and remove
His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and
teaching and forcing others to do the same. Satan has control of all whom God
does not especially guard. He will favor
and prosper some, in order to further his own designs; and he will bring
trouble upon others, and lead men to believe that it is God who is afflicting
them.” Great Controversy 589
"While Satan seeks to destroy those
who honor God's law, he will cause
them to be accused as lawbreakers, as men who are dishonoring God, and bringing
judgments upon the world." Great
Controversy 591
"Those who honor the Bible Sabbath
will be denounced as enemies of law
and order, as breaking down the
moral restraints of society, causing anarchy and corruption, and calling down the judgments of God upon the
earth. Their conscientious scruples will be pronounced obstinacy,
stubbornness, and contempt of authority. They will be accused of disaffection toward the government. Ministers who
deny the obligation of the divine law will present from the pulpit the duty of
yielding obedience to the civil authorities as ordained of God. In legislative
halls and courts of justice, commandment keepers will be misrepresented and
condemned. A false coloring will be given to their words; the worst
construction will be put upon their motives." Great Controversy 592
"And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are
causing these evils. The class that have provoked the displeasure of Heaven
will charge all their troubles upon those whose obedience to God's commandments is
a perpetual reproof to transgressors. It
will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the
Sunday-sabbath; that this sin has brought calamities which will not
cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced; and that those who
present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for
Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing
their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity.” Great Controversy 590
The
Sealed
Put yourself in the place of one of the
many who over the years have experienced this spiritual power coming upon them,
accompanied by visions and messages, and you can imagine how difficult it would
be for anyone to tell you your experience was not from heaven. Many innocent
children and sincere adults have had these experiences, which they neither
looked nor asked for — it just happened. Consider, what will you do, or
how will you react when this happens to you. How will you deny what you
are seeing, hearing, feeling? What
will keep you from accepting the most glorious being mankind will have ever
seen as Christ?
"The last great delusion is soon to
open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight.
So
closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to
distinguish between them, except by the Holy Scriptures.
By their testimony every
statement and every miracle must be tested." The Great Controversy 593
"Mary" is encouraging people to
study the book of Revelation, including the seal of God, the antichrist, the mark of the beast, the latter rain, the three angels and
the return of Christ. With the skill he has developed over the last 6,000
years, Satan is going to make the counterfeit appear to be genuine messages of
God. The apparitions speak of prayer, faith, trust in
God, and reciting and keeping the Ten Commandments (with Sunday as the 4th
commandment, of course).

your hearts to Jesus! I am calling you to prayer and to complete surrender to
God! Today I beg you to start loving with the burning love with which I love
you!’ These messages remind us of Jesus' teaching (in Mark

God... to lead you on the way to salvation!’ Mary has pleaded. ‘They, too [those
separated from God], are my children. I grieve for them, because they do not
know what awaits them if they do not turn back to God. Pray for them!’ Mary has

How will we be able to show the people
that these visions, with their winsome message of “love”, are not of God?
The Real
Issue
While the apparitions and antichrist will
speak of love, the following demonstrates that the fundamental issue between
these apparitions and that of God’s people will be those of the Great
Controversy—namely, what kind of person God is and how he runs his universe:
“On November 11, Our Lady told Beulah
Lynch: ‘My child, I am your mother, Mother of God. You cannot know the wrath of God. God is very, very angry because of
the sins of the world. I cannot hold back any longer. I cannot save the world.
The people must save the world. The people must come to the grotto, to pray,
fast, and do penance before the chastisements start.’” Thunder of Justice 31
“‘My daughter, my novice, do you love the
Lord? If you love the Lord, listen to what I have to say to you. It is very
important. You will convey it to your superior. Many men in this world afflict
the Lord. I desire souls to console Him
to soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I wish, with my Son, for souls
who will repair by their suffering and their poverty for the sinners and
ingrates.
“In
order that the world might know His anger, the Heavenly Father is preparing to
inflict a great chastisement on all mankind. With my Son I have intervened so
many times to appease the wrath of the Father. I have prevented the coming of
calamities by offering Him the sufferings of the Son on the Cross, His Precious
Blood, and beloved souls who console Him forming a legion of victim souls.
Prayer, penance and courageous sacrifices can soften the Father's anger.”

"Pray very much the prayers of the
rosary. I alone am able to save you from
the calamities that approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be
saved.
"My dear daughter, listen well to
what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior. As I told you, if men
do not repent and better themselves, the
Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a
punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before.
Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the
good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors
will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms
that will remain for you will be the rosary and Sign left by My Son. Each day
recite the prayers of the rosary. With the rosary, pray for the Pope, the
bishops, and the priests.” Thunder of Justice 186
“The
Lord prefers that we convert for love, but if
it is necessary, for fear of punishment. Nonetheless, He will accept conversion all ways and will receive us
because He loves us and wants our salvation. For love or for fear, the only thing that matters is that we
give ourselves to Him.” Thunder of Justice 349
Three
More Popes
Since God is the one who decides when to
give Satan free reign, the apparitions cannot know when they will have freedom
to perform their worldwide hoax. The apparitions stated various times that all
these signs and wonders would occur before the year 2000. Satan made a grand
push to bring his delusions at that time, but it is apparent that God did not
allow it. These predictions alone demonstrate that these are false prophets.
Whether or not Satan is allowed to perform
the following prophecy or not, only time will tell. Yet he clearly wants to
perform his acts soon:
“Conchita has said: ‘After Pope John XXIII
died, Our Lady told me, “after Pope John, there will be three more Popes, one
will reign only a short time, and then it will be the
end of times.” When Pope Paul VI became Pope, Our Lady mentioned this to me
again. She said, “Now there will be two more Popes and then it will be the end
of times, but not the end of the world.”’…
“Until the Magisterium of the Church
renders a final judgment on Garabandal, which we the faithful will accept
unconditionally, it would be prudent to ponder the following questions:
“Are we now living at the end of Marian
times and at what has been sometimes called the time of God's Great Mercy? Will
we enter into the time of God's Justice when the reign of Pope John Paul II
ends? The fourth and final prophecy of Garabandal tells us that the chastisement
is conditioned on whether we heed the messages of the Blessed Virgin Mary.”
